About Me
I often meet patients at a time when they are not feeling their best, either needing surgery or recovering from surgery. I enjoy educating patients about their diagnosis and explaining the surgery procedure and anticipated recovery process. I feel it is important to involve patients in identifying their needs, answering their questions and connecting them with the resources needed to help reduce stress and anxiety regarding procedures and recovery.
I have been working in perioperative nursing almost my entire career, starting out as an RN in the operating room and, most recently, as a surgical first assistant in surgery and nurse practitioner for both general and vascular surgery.
Empowering and motivating patients to be in control of their own health as much as possible in order to create a plan that is personalized and will work best for them is very rewarding. I enjoy connecting patients with the resources to help them achieve their health care goals.
