Encouraging patients to be active participants in their healthcare is an important approach in how I deliver care. As a primary care provider, I feel my job is not only to partner with my patients to help manage their health, but to also get to know them as individuals. I enjoy learning about their interests and needs, and in response, I develop treatment plans that are focused on the individual.
For me, it’s all about developing long-term relationships with patients. Family medicine gives me that unique opportunity to care for people at all ages—from infants to geriatrics—and over the long term.
