About Me
I enjoy working as an infectious diseases specialist because it allows me to help patients when they’re critically ill and see them recover. I find it rewarding to intervene in severe cases and take satisfaction in being able to cure infections and improve patients’ outcomes.
My philosophy of care is patient-centered and built on honesty and trust. I believe in empowering patients with clear information so they can make informed decisions. When treatment decisions are uncertain, I take time to discuss all options so patients can decide what feels best for them.
I chose to pursue a career in infectious diseases during my residency when I cared for AIDS patients and wanted more knowledge to help them. I enjoy the variety of the field, working with many types of doctors, solving tough medical puzzles and treating various bacterial, viral and fungal infections, including drug-resistant infections. It’s important to prevent the spread of infections while ensuring antimicrobial agents are used judiciously to discourage the development of drug-resistant bacteria.
